RaiShauna Martin and imlonely are absolutely wrong, and it is very likely they have no clue what you're actually talking about. Gimp 2 (and any other release version) is just a powerful, very useful, free alternative to Adobe Photoshop. It is built by a group of professional developers and I use the latest release almost every day with my job, and at home. The only way it COULD be harmful is if you downloaded it from some third-party website that put adware on it, but that's true for ALL software. Just make sure to download it from the creator's site and you're good to go. I'm a geek, you can trust me.
Why would image editing software be harmful to your computer?
