How do I make sure we stay friends after he leaves?

okay this is my friends last year on our campus because next year he has to find another college to go to because the one on our campus is only a 2 yr one and I’m wondering after he leaves what can I do to make sure we’re still friends because he actually lives in another town and he is really excited about leaving and it seems like he doesn’t care about our “friendship” anymore and I still want us to b friends and whenever I try to txt him he doesn’t say much anymore like he used to because he’s always too busy for me. so what am I supposed to think, are we still friends or not because he’s acting like we’re not? and it gets me so mad at times and I feel like saying “screw Kevin!!” and “ I liked summer/RA Kevin way better!!” but I know I can’t and I know college life can make you busy but if he has the time to txt his friends why can’t he txt me? and I don’t mean every day but a least every once and a while so please help!!

I think you should spend the rest of the time thats left, with him. I mean spend the last few days wit him Before he leaves the town. you 2 could go out an talk about what hes gonnna do after leaving the town. Finally, after your conversation ask him If hes going to miss you as much as you would. He will probably say yes. Then you tell him That you 2 are friends and that you dont want to loose the friendship between him and u… THEN you COULD SAY “Kevin, keep texting me once ina wile, I know your busy but text me atleast once a week so we COULD BE IN CONTACT” you could also ask him for his Email address and keep in contact.
