Fraudulent use of credit card

My ex girlfriend took out 7 credit cards using my social security number (which she memorized) and had the bills mailed to her grandparents home and contact number her cell phone. She now has me $5000.00 in debt and since I reported it to the credit card companies what she did now their harassing me daily. We have a son whom she gave to me but will not sign over custody, I’m afraid if I pursue charges against her for forging the charge cards that she’ll take my son away. Help!!!

Answer #1

You need to have a lawyer help you out with this situation. Until then, just do the best you can for your son.

Answer #2

Yea you definitely need legal advice rather than ‘fun’ advice…

Answer #3

If she does that - take her to court. She is obviously not fit to be a mother since she gave her son away and is now stealing your credit cards and being a fraud. If you took her to court there is a good chance you would get custody.

Answer #4

I speak to my Lawyer about options and how to proceed…Take care !!

Answer #5

File charges, that’s the ONLY way to save yourself from the debt…Tho she might not have signed over custody, after the fraud charges are filed, the courts may very well do that for her (make you the custodial parent)…Many lawyers do a first consult for free…call around and find one that might do that for you…
