How do you get 19 by using four 4's? You can put any operation in-between the numbers. And you can use 44 and 4.4, but each of those equals 2 fours. Here's an example:
To get 1 you could do: 4 x 4 / 4 / 4= 1
(4/4) x (4/4)= 1
I found out 14 ways to get 1. But I need to know how to find out 19!!!
Help please!
This is an old math puzzle, only the aim is to construct as many integers as you can using four fours, not just 19.
You're going to need a math operation that you might not be familiar with, called "factorial". Finding the factorial of a number x is pretty easy: You just multiply all the natural numbers less than or equal to x together.
Four factorial is written as 4!, and here's how you calculate it: 4!=432*1 4!=24
4! − 4 − (4 ÷ 4)
It's using what cthulhu explained... because 4!=24, and 24-4=20... and 4 divided by 4 is one, so 20 - 1 = 19!
I don't know if that made sense, but if you have questions just funmail or ask here!
no, its not my homework, it was a brain teaser we had. I wasn't in class because I had to leave school early so everyone has been bugging me about it. Every number up to 113 can be made from four 4's.
It id 4with a mini one on the top, you cant do it on the computer then plus 4 minus 4 = 1
love kelly...
I got em all up to 20 but 11 does anyone know please help me!!
hmm. well 44/4+4+4 would be 19, but that is five 4's...
well. this is going to bother me, so I'll think about it for a while and post if I think of anything?
Ok I really SUCK at math so I cant help you there! and thanx for answering my Question! if you do another question I will answer that!
Hmmm... this wouldn't be your homework would it?
11 is 44÷(sqrt4+sqrt4)
