Is it ok to use a flat iron on hair extensions that are fake hair not real?

Answer #1

Nope it will burn/melt he fake hair.

Answer #2

no wayyyy it wll defo burn,u should only striaghten real/human hair

Answer #3

No, it will melt it because of the material it is made of. It’s like doing it on a dolls hair… D:

Answer #4

“I’m meeeellllting”……if you want to recreate the witch in the Wizard of Oz, go ahead. Fake extensions are made from plastic, which will melt, ruin your flat iron, and generally look like crap. So no, I wouldn’t recommend it. :D

Answer #5

Depend’s on quality..If isn’t nylon or very cheap stuff u can try on lock hair 1st.When I had, it was a misture of real & fake from an specific br& of ex10sions.I used lot of hairdryer & flat iron.Find blond real & with no quimic hair @ Brasil is very difficult, up 2 U$3.000,00 - no way!!

Answer #6

NEVER straighten or curl fake hair. I have real hair extensions from Sally’s Beauty Supply. They were $80 and totally worth the money. I can wash them, curl them, straighten them, dye them, etc.. So if you want to be able to straighten extensions make sure it’s real hair & not fake.

Answer #7

what you can do is fold a towel, lay your extensions under both folds of the towl and lightly press your iron, set on the lowest setting over the top (clothes iron that is). only do it for a split second then take it off and check the extension. if it still isnt straight do it again, but be very careful as it can melt.

Answer #8

nonono u shud only put heat on real hair,

Answer #9

if its 100% remy human hair then yeah go ahead, theyre amazing ive got two full head sets. i get mine from head kandy hair extensions every time and they are amazing flawless thick full head hair extensions, ive dyed mine and i used to wear them every day and curl them and straighten etcetc.. theyre the cheapest ones you can get online that give you amazing quality and its really worth it :) theyre the only ones you can really use heat on without damaging too much. if its fake hair, like synthetic, no heat.. i made this mistake when i was about 11 and had no idea about hair stuff.. it frazzled and melted all of my flat iron.. (n) hope this helped :)
