Answer #2

I don’t find them creepy, but I feel they shouldnt be putting all that make up and fake tan on 3 year olds!! It’s way to overrated and stupid! why would people want to look at 3 year olds plastered with make up while they model..hmm I guess I do find it kinda creepy!! :)

Answer #3

I think those pageants are secretly more about the parents,

Answer #4

I’ve never been to a pageant or know anyone who has entered one. I’m not sure if ‘Toddlers and Tiaras” is a true representation of the real thing or not, but from what I’ve watched.. these are my thoughts.

When a child is crying because their hair hurts, that’s too far. A child shouldn’t feel pain because of a hair style - they shouldn’t be teaching their little children that “beauty is pain”.

My next argument is money. I know these families financial stability is none of my concern, but if they are taking out loans to buy $3000 dresses for one day, that’s a bit extreme. And what happens to the money the children win at these pageant? I can hope that some put the money in a savings for the child for when he/she is older, but what if they don’t

On one episode, there were twin girls who both take part in pageants. One of the twins was ‘better’ at pageants than her sister but they were both enrolled. Half way through, the ‘better’ twin was acting out and the parents warned her of a punishment if she didn’t behave. She was pulled right out of the competition. The parents made her sit in the audience and watch her sister compete. I was happy to see that it wasn’t about the parents… they were strictly doing it because the girls liked it.

I don’t think pageants are entirely different than a sport. You can watch your children compete in soccer or hockey and encourage them to be better. This isn’t more than another organized recreational competition and with a few exceptions, should be taken very seriously (with the initial goal of having fun - but everyone likes to win)!

Answer #7

No. I don’t find them creepy or weird. I like them. The kids are too conceited though. That’s the only thing I dislike about it. It’s funny when the girl is like “I’m going to win!” then she loses and cries.

Answer #8

i find them more disgusting then creepy. i hate the fact that people think its okay to dress a baby or toddler up like a miniature prositute. child beauty pageants sicken me, there teacheing there babies to have very ow self steem, because those kids are praised on their looks, if they dont look good enough, they dont win. and if they dont win there not happy. so then they just end up being self concious about their looks and wondering why the other kids are prettier than them

Answer #9

i do, i think they are way to young to do it

Answer #10

I do too! The parents are living their dreams through them. Do you ever notice that most of the pageant parents are over weight,it’s like they are living their skinny pageant dreams through their kids. Also why do they put the kids in swim suit contests? That’s kinda gross!

Answer #11

I just don’t really find it right. These parents are turning their toddlers into conceited teenagers at way too young an age… I mean, don’t we already have enough judgemental, conceited people in the world? … That’s why I don’t watch that crap.

Answer #12

definately me, it looks like something paedophiles watch.
