Is anybody else here a film/movie nerd?

i do like a good film

I wouldn’t say I am a movie or film nerd, but I absolutely love going to the cinema and watching things on DVD. The only thing I would say is ‘weird’ about it though (or at least other people can think I am for it sometimes) is that I like foreign films and will regularly go to the local arthouse cinema and watch things that are not as mainstream as well.

I don’t learn loads of movie trivia or anything like that- I just watch a wide range of things and so get to know about actors/actresses work and like to imdb things I watch to learn more about it sometimes. So I am not a nerd in the sense I learn lots of things about films or am fascinated by one or two specific films or series, but am in the sense that waching films is a favourite pastime of mine and I have a fairly wide taste in things.

Considering I watch a new film everyday, I’d say yes. I am a film nerd. I just watched Never Let Me Go with Keira Knightly and Carey Mulligan :)

Is it any good? I read the book and it was alright, am still trying to make a decision about seeing the film

I found the film ok- it was not something I would watch again really I don’t think, but the acting was really good. I just found it had a good ‘moral’, but didn’t really consider other elements (for example, it could have been a great statamet about standing up to authority) and it didn’t leave a massive impression.

I thought it was good, the acting was impressive, and the story-line was interesting but it’s a sad film.
