I would have to say that after doing so much nail art on my clients, I feel it is more based on a particular mood.
If I am in a good mood I want something with more pizazz...if I want a classier look I will go with a french and add some lace to it or a few clear rhinestones.
If I want something in between a classy yet fun look I will go for a colored french, like mix a base color(from pink to purple or even red)and add a white french on the free edge(meaning the nail part to the top) then I would add more nail art like designs or i just add a sticker that is already done...if i really feel more creative I will do some form of 3d nail art...like a lady bug using acrylic then painting with the nail polish for the final touches. Top coat it. (for those that might have a UV curing machine, can always use some clear gel or sealer then cure it.) :P
royal purple with sparkles (it reminds me of outerspace) or bright, neon colors with SHATTER! nail polish. Most of the time I just use a pretty color that collaborates with my outfit for that day, add sparkles or SHATTER! nail polish and leave it on for about a week...:P
French Manicure, black with white tips, black layer underneath with a nice see-through red on top.
