What is your favorite genra of music and what memories are attached to that music?

For example Reggea music reminds me of lying on the beach in hawaii with my sister, and driving her bus throughout the big island. Simply listening to raggea brings me back to those times :) Everton blender, slightly stoopid, Jah cure, Soldiers of Jah, Gyptian, Sashamon, Richie spice, Rebelution, J-boog,and matisyahu are some of the artists that bring me back :)

Answer #1

rap :) I don’t like rap rap, but like Eminem & 2pac. I like hearing about people over coming their struggles. I also like Taylor Swift & Lady Gaga music, don’t know what genre that is :P

Answer #2

Metal. Metal of all kinds, minus a few. I have no memories attached to the genre specifically, but I do “bond” with certain songs, and some of those have people attached to them. It’s rather difficult to explain. I’m sometimes hesitant to show people these songs because I feel like I’m loosing a piece of myself with it, and I feel like people can’t appreciate the song in the way I do, of course that’s only for like four songs that I know =P It’s a wonderful thing, being able to listen to a piece of music and think deeply about a person, event, memory or dream.

Answer #4

alternative/indie/progressive rock. Its something I associate with my closest friends, especially when we were in high school. Brings back some good memories.

Answer #5

Old fashioned rock and roll….70’s, 80’s, 90’s…..few songs don’t bring back memories…

However, when I even smell a beer, I can HEAR rock and roll ;) Now that’s a memory!

Answer #6

Not really genre but specifically Metallica. Its the first band that I heard that I was like “WOW I really like this!!!” and started paying attention to their music. Metallica Black is like therapy for me, and I play it any time I’m having troubles in my life. Overall it just reminds me of when I was a teen, and life seemed a lot simpler when I look back on it :P.

Answer #7

Techno - although it was some of the stupidest years of my life do t dr.ugs, my memories of being a kandi kid, going to raves, our crazy black light outfits, dancing and feeling liked by everyone around you….i have some of my best memories from rave nights.

Answer #8

It’s funny, because I never really liked country music, but then I met my fiance, and she listens to it all the time, so that might be my favorite now, just because it makes me think of her.
