My father abandoned me at the age of 21, or rather chose his wife over me. I am now 27 and still feel as though it was yesterday that I lost my dad. How can I get on with my life?
Sorry to hear about what happened to you in the past, but know: Everyone has mountain-tops and valleys in their lives, so you're not alone....my Faith tells me in trials we are molded into the person HE wants us to be....in other words in our lives, what was meant for bad, can be turned into good....you're better prepared for Your future...so put your focus where it should be and not on the past....you'll be in my thoughts and prayers !
You need to eliminate the term "Father". He is the person that "made" you, but if the ties between you were not that strong, then he is nothing more than another person in your life. You are no less of a person because your father isn't there. He is obviously not worthy of you. And later, he will relize the mistake he made by not getting to know his daughter.
