What do I do about my extra period on the Ortho Evra patch?
I was a day late putting it on and now I have an extra period this month. Will I still have one next week? And what am I suppose to do about my patches ?? do I restart my cycle after this period or keep going like normal??? Thanks so much
You generally have two options. Since you started the patch late, your body assumed it was time for your menstrual cycle when the patch wasnt put on, so thats why you are bleeding again. Since you put the patch on while your body thought it was menstruating you may bleed longer than a usual period. If your sexually active i sugges just dealing with it and keeping the patch on and continue use as usual and change the patch when your supposed too. If you arent sexually active you can remove the patch and have your menstrual cycle and then apply the next patch when your supposed to, not before then. I wouldnt do this if your sexually active though because you wont be protected for a few days.
