Ewww termites yuck lol

If termites like wood why dont they eat trees???instead of ppls houses and stuff…

Answer #1

I believe that live trees have natural defenses against insects- that is one more use for sap- if a bug bites into the tree- they could get stuck in a glob of sap or drowned by it.

now peoples houses are built with kiln dried wood- no more sap, so it resembles the termites natural food source which would be dead wood on the forest floor. we can get around this by using green treated lumber, but eventually it will completely dry out and become food for termites.

Answer #2

They do eat trees.
