Make it big.
Im in a band with my grandpa and brother. And not to be egotistical or anything, but we're freaking good. (hah)
We play blues/rock. like john mayer, stevie ray vaughn, hendrix (just to name a few)
And of course, we want to make it big. This year (2008) was our first year as being a serious band. We got 8 gigs (not that many).
Sooo, obviously I know we have to play wayyy more gigs to even have a slight chance of being famous.
My brother and grandpa seem like they have no drive to get us gigs or anything, so I have to step-up and be the leader. And I need some help.
So how can I get us some shows and stuff???

advertise yourselfes, make yourself known around your area, like not only in your county or city, but with surrounding counties and cities. I would even say, get your music on the internet, get it on any site that you can, where it will reach out to many more people, and someone just might see it and help you to get elsewhere. also if its all possible (and you want to lol) invite yourselfes to other places. thats all I know what to do. sign up for everything possible. county fairs, talent shows, battle of the bands, maybe a few sweet sixteens or if your school has prom try to play for that. anything you can think of that might need/ accept a band to play, ask someone running it. and don't just think about your town and your school. anywhere within driving distance is close enough to play a gig.
Go to local warehouses and party rooms and see if you can rent the space to play your own show. Collaborate with other local bands and put on a show for a holiday or something. Go to other close towns and become familiar with other bands. Become familiar with club owners and such so maybe they'll have you back. Good luck. Hope this helped at least a little bit.
