How to start saving some money?
Alright. I posted this question before but didn’t get a large response. I’m engaged, 23 years old, graduated from undergrad in May 2007. I am finishing my masters (will be done in may) and already work full time and receive benefits. My fiance has one year of school left. However, he can not go back until he pays off a debt to the school. he failed to read the fine print in a loan apparently. Despite his financial issues (he is always in the negatives in his checking and savings) he continues to give his mother partial rent (150). He stays with me and my parents (yes I still live with my parents I just graduated from college and will not be done with grad school until May). My parents do not charge him (us) rent. Why is he giving money to his mother and then asking me for money to help for school? I’m tempted to stop giving him money, but then I feel bad because I want him to finish school so badly and we are supposed to be a team! Right?
I hope he’s grateful. What you and your parents are doing is very commendable. Do his parents know that you’re paying his loan? Are they relying on his partial rent? I assume he works and thats why he can pay them 150 - but if thats the case why can’t he also pay the loan? He’s living free right now. What’s missing here? LOL
It’s not MY money YOUR money in a relationship it’s OUR money. You are supost to help eachother.. one day your gunna need help and he is gunna be the one to help you and if you dont help him now he’ll have no reason to help you. I know I would help my boyfriend if he needed money. Also… since your engaged you should know that together you wil survive better than alone. Now I don’t know why he’s giving money to his mother… I bet you should talk to him about this better than anyone else can give you an answer.
