How to stop being judged for my past choices?

im a cutter well… I used to be and the people on my swim team know because they saw the scares. they keep on asking me why and I dont know… that was the way I cotrolled my depression. I know its crazy and bad and stupid but I don’t know sometimes I think it heps but then when I am done I realize that it was a mestake. now I cant hid the ugly scare.. what the hell is wrong with me? I always get called gothic or emo because of my cuts and the way I dress.

You have control of the way you dress - maybe a change would be best - the scars, you can’t change (may be able to minimize in appearance) but they reflect your past…not your future…I wish you the best !!

heres my advice: just dont give a f about what other people think. if someone says, “hey, emo kid, why dont you go cut yourself in the bathroom. HAHAHAHHA!!!” or some s like that, you tell him to his face that you have made a bad decision, and you have changed. if you need to talk about stuff like that, theres a great site. vampirefreaks.com. check it out, im on there all the time.

._. cutting gives you scars and it dont look so nice but I’ve heard it only makes you think that and like instead of cutting yourself when your mad /sad pick up a different habit like punching stuff or shouting until you annoy the crap outta your neigborhood (thats what my friend does =p )

When people ask just tell them is was a bad decision from a bad part of your life. It’s now over and you have moved on. Tell them you would rather not discuss it because it is over and done with. You are out and active, like being on the swim team and that’s great! The best thing you can do is be direct, but not insulting and tell whomever ask that it’s over and you don’t wish to discuss it. Most people will respect that. The ones that don’t are inmature and not worth the arguement. So just ignore them and go on about you day. take care mel

Answer #5

yes you will have to live with your scars, they are bad- but if you see what you have done in the past, and it keeps you from doing it again, then they can be a positive reminder to do something else instead. take care of yourself- and the heck with what anyone else thinks, be yourself and find another way to deal with your depression.
