my email is rockerchick23@yahoo.com
Yes. Having an email like john_doe@hotmail.co.uk is more professional and shows a better working attitude as opposed to the "fun" msn ones. My addy has been my name since I was 9, I never did the whole teenager addy thingy. I think you should just make a new one, it's free and it takes like 5 minutes. Keep your old one and only give out your new one for professional use. I have a seperate email account from my most used one that I use for college, work and various other things. It keeps things neat and professional, and you don't need to lose your old one. It's quick and simple :)
I have had the same email account now for 15+ years. I made a separate one when I went to apply for a job (quite a few years ago) and I left the email blank because my email address is SexyCamaroGyrl....lol...I just thought to myself "if I were them, what would I think" It definitely wouldn't be "This is a sure thing, lets hire this one." So I made one just for professional use. It's better to be safe than sorry, while, rocker chick is not the worst I've seen, it could hinder your job opportunities.
What I did was make an email specifically for that. My first/last name and birthday year... Imagine if you were hiring and the person applying had an email that was ''rocker chick''? It might seem to them that you might not take things seriously.
When you are applying for a job, keep your E-Mail simple and also professional. See that your name appears in that and keeping some fancy names for E-Mail reflecting in your application forum doesn't go well for sure
thank you.(:
