Is it okay to eat spinach bought in a container that has an expired date but looks okay?

Answer #1

Im more of a freak when it comes to dates on products like food/meds…so if there is an expiration date on it then it goes to the garbage. I hv had way too many cases of food poisoning to know better!

If you are willing to eat it regardless, dont be surprised if it tastes funny weird or makes you sick.

Good luck!

Answer #2

The best thing to do is not to do it, just because there is a reason why it has a certain expiration date.

Although that there is a possibility that it’s still good. The expiration date sometimes is not exact, so there are chances that it will be good after the date said.

You can it, you can take the chance I guess. The worst that can happen is just stomach pain, trowing up and stuff like that. You won’t die. :)

Answer #3

uhmm?? probably, but honetly i wouldnt take any chances! :///

Answer #4

i am like temptress, i really dont take chances with food that expires tomorrow, today, or before. but who would eat spinach anyways? lolz

Answer #5

Maybe not raw, but if you bring it to a boil for at least five minutes, that should kill any bacteria and will be fine, for example in a soup.

Answer #6

Is it an expiry date or a “best before” date? They are two very different things - an expiry date tells you that the item should not be used after that specific date, which means you need to throw it out. A best before date tells you that the product retains its best quality by that date, and although safe to eat for at least a few more days, it may not appear as good as a fresher product.

Oh alright thanks.
