maybe get one of those diet foods you see on the tv commercials and try it out…eat the meals everyday for as long as you want and see if you lose weight…you might have to ask a friends, or doctor, or pharamcist or somthing before you do eat it…just to be on the safe side.

Answer #4

Well a diet is correspondent with the amount of calories you need to consume in order to see weight loss.

Do you know how much calories you need? If you want to know, check my How-to on calculating the amount of calories you need.

Generally, a good weight loss diet consists of high protein foods, mid-range complex carbohydrates for 80% of your carb intake, and mid-range good fats.

Foods like that are: PROTEINS: Chicken Beef (Lean, 80/20 or 90/10) Fish (Tuna is great, salmon too) Nuts (Almonds and Peanut butter)

CARBS: Bananas/Fruits (Simple carbs, great for mornings and after workouts) Brown Rice (Complex, slow-digesting to keep metabolism running) Whole Wheat Bread/Pasta (Complex and starchy, good for energy) Green vegetables (Broccoli is good, converts to fiber for your bowels) *Yogurts/Cottage Cheese (Slow-digesting proteins and carbs for bedtime)

FATS: Fish (fat is unsaturated and supports body and hormone function) Almonds/Nuts (high in Omega-6 and 9 which promote organ health) *Egg yolks (the fat helps maintain good cholesterol and has BCAA’s that help preserve and build muscle)

I can help you out further if you need help. :)

Answer #5

The best diet is a high protein with low carb diet. The protein will make sure the weight loss does not come from your muscles. The low carbs forces your body to get energy from its reserves… your fat.

thank-you! maybe someone will listen…

Answer #7

In a way, this is helpful. Low-carb (10-15% of intake is carbs) forces the body to go through ketogenesis. By creating ketones, you are converting fatty lipids into energy, thus “burning” fat. The only way this can work though, is if carbohydrates are as close to zero as possible, but in order to do that, you MUST increase protein and fat intake. Meaning you should be getting 50% from protein, 40-45% from fats, and 5-10% from carbs. That means eating 80+g of fat, good fat to be exact in order to efficiently use this low-carb diet successfully. Also, timing of carbs is important to note as well since it requires knowledge of when to consume forms of carbs, such as early mornings and after workouts and before bed. Genrally, low-carbs can also mean 30% of intake, but then these all have to be majority of complex carbs in order to see results. :P Just thought I’d clear that up.

Answer #8

it doesn’t have to be close to zero carbs i start at 20 then, once i dont lose anymore weight iadd 5 then,so on and so forth..

Answer #9

If you’re adding carbs, then you’re not going through ketogenisis and actually just eating below maintenance.

Answer #10

Eating a lot of protein will NOT insure that your weight loss comes from fat rather than muscle. That requires plenty of exercise, both aerobic and weight/resistance, to build muscle tissue, boost your metabolic rate, and “burn fat.” Otherwise, the protein you consume will just be burned as fuel, or even converted to fat while your body burns up your own muscle tissue for the energy stored in it.
