E-MAXX probs blew with lots of smoke, is that normal?

To keep things short… an electrolytic capacitor (search it if you dont know what it is) in my emaxx (version 1) evx blew with lots of smoke after a short period of unresponsiveness… I was just wondering why or if it is comon… . thanks in advance

Capacitors commonly blow in power supplies - sometimes with quite a bit of fanfare. Electrolytic capacitors tend to dry out over time and are particularly susceptible to ‘blowing up’.

If you can read the magnitude (usually micro Farads for electrolytic types) on the side of it, you can replace it with something similar in most cases.
