What do I tell people about the way I dress?

I’m fifteen, a sophomore in highschool and I’m very much into fashion. I’m always “dressed up” in something other than jeans and a tshirt. A lot of people surprisingly don’t like it at all. I don’t really care what they think it’s just so annoying getting dirty looks all the time because I don’t want to walk around looking like a bum all the time. When people ask me about it I just say I like to look good and I’m really not sure if that’s the right thing to say because I get tons of attitude. Any advice on what to tell them?

if your not wearing jeans and a t shirt then what are you wearing??? I dont get it, are you wearing black pants or khakis or something? and you kinda have t wear t shirts in one way shape or form, even its like silk or something…I mean really be more specific at least

Don’t tell them anything. I know it hurts when they say things, and trying to ignore them is pretty much impossible. If things get really bad you could come back with something like ‘At least I don’t look like you’ but that will get you more attitude. Carry on doing what you want, it seems important, but what they think isn’t important. They are probably just jealous ;)
