Dog sickness

My pug this morning woke up, she was in a great mood, playing around, and when she jumped up for a walk, something went wrong. I noticed her slowing down and bleeding from her private’s. The bleeding continued and got worse, from every hole in her body except her nose, and eventually within 20 minutes, she died.

Does anyone know what would have caused this?

Omg how horrible! Poor pug and poor you! So sorry to hear that :(

I’ve been Googling around looking for other examples to find out a possible cause, and I think it might be that your pug ingested rat poison or a poisoned rat. The anti-coagulant purpose of rat poison produces the cause of the bleeding from most of the dog’s orifice.

I think it’s important for your vet to perform a necropsy on your pug to find the exact cause. It might be important information to protect your other dogs (if any) or other future dogs.

These are some of the websites that I read through, if anyone’s wants to go through it: http://ticktot.wordpress.com/2008/02/11/healthy-for-humans-deadly-for-dogs/

OMG…I am so sorry…What a horrible traumatic thing for you…

Without a necropsy, a Vet wouldn’t know for absolute sure, what happened…however, if it were me, I’d ask a vet what might have caused such a thing to happen…

Again, I’m so very sorry for your loss…

Hugs… phrannie

I agree with xx_the_a7x_parade_xx… even though she died, the vet might still be able to find out what caused it to happen

Answer #4

Oh… I’m sorry about your pug :( Call up your local vet/animal hospital and let them now what went on. They should be able to tell you what caused it.

Answer #5

Answer #9

That’s Sad but here’s a pic of a pug that prob. looks like yours

Answer #10

Yes I know… the vet might still be able to figure WHY

Answer #11

I went looking, too…I don’t know the circumstances of where your dog spends her time…in the yard, in the house…etc…but I Googled “Sudden hemmoraging in Dogs”…I found this at a Q and A at a Vet site…

SUDDEN DEATH IN DOGS

Bleeding events – these can occur for no apparent reason but we see sudden death from hemangiosarcoma tumors which occur due to bleeding induced by the tumors and it is sometimes the first sign of a problem. I think of these as being among the more common causes of sudden hemorrhage in patients six years of age or above.

It appears that the first sign of hemangiosarcoma, is the hemmoraging to death, from a tumor you couldn’t have possibly known about…

Again…hugs to you and yours.

she might have ruptured something inside, if she jumped that could have caused it, I know thats what happened to my cousins dog, but id check with your vet to get an animal autopsy just in case, they might see something inside.
