Why doesn't the viola ( the musical instrument, not the plant) get good music?

Answer #1

Wat do u mean cuz my daughter plays the viola and I think it snds fine

Answer #2

What do you mean it does not get good music? Like why it does not sould good? I think that I can sound good if you know how to play it, you don’t want to hear a viola badly played. Or why the parts to play it are borring? Violas many times don’t have the main leads, mostly violins take the main lead, also If you are in a full band the viola wont really get loud becaue of the louder introuments that are included.

Answer #4

Why doesnt the viola get any good parts in music?

Answer #5

viola doesnt get good music cuz its in the middle of the string section. everybody looks at the giant basses and people listen to the intricate melodies that violin 1 has, but counter melodies og to the second violains. personally i like the viola because it has that middle alto sound but when in an orcestra it doesnt carry much weight.

Answer #6

I’m asking why we never get any nice beautiful parts in music. I wonce played a song a 4/4 beat measure and we had abt 48 measures of rest throughout the song ( the song was only 1/2 of a page!)

Answer #7

The viola repertoire was traditionally played by “viol consorts” and everybody thought that “viol music” sounded like “vile music”.

Answer #12

Violas are HUGELY important to the string orchestra. Often times the first violins are given the melody and the second violins the harmony or countermelody (the difference between harmony and countermelody is harmony usually has the same rhythm but different notes played so the first and second violins are playing chords. The countermelody is when the rhythm and/or notes are different so you hear too different sounds at the same time) The cellos provide a nice low sound to give substance and power, and the basses provide the lowest of sound. Many times cellos get played in the high range because so many people have obsessions with the musical beauty of the instrument. The violas usually play an octave lower than the violins and an octave higher than the cellos. They’re given very important parts that connect the orchestra together, but most people don’t hear that because the melody is what stands out most. Violas are not well known or liked by the public and have a bad reputation, but never underestimate their power. Be proud if you play viola!
