Who doesn't like the band Tool? How could anyone not find genius in them?

People who can’t appreciate music like Tool have no soul.

That’s not a very kind thing to say, but you are still young, so I’ll allow it to pass. There is one thing you need to understand, though…genius, and more importantly, wisdom, does not come from angry lyrics - it comes from experience, compassion, and the ability to set aside anger. I don’t appreciate music like Tool because it angers my soul, and my soul is more at peace then you can ever imagine. Someday, you may figure that out for yourself, but for now, you are simply lost.

Tool? Angry? My goodness. You must not pay attention to their ingenious lyrics, as you’re too busy focusing on how intimidating their word usage is, and thus you come to hasty conclusions that they’re “angry”. No. As a matter of fact, the song “Lateralus” is about the expanding of human consciousness and is based upon the Fibonacci sequence, with influences from a Native American and Aboriginal archetypes somehow incorporated into the song’s lyrics (yet then again that is only an estimate as Tool’s lyrics are too intricate to be deciphered fully). I suppose you find music like Miley Cirus and Lady Gaga (or 50 Cent) to be genius when in fact they emit more negativity than any “angry” musician ever will?

Don’t insult me or my intelligence. I am, by no means, a fan of the music Lady Gaga or Miley Cyrus and much prefer the calming tones of composers like Mozart and Beethoven (who were real geniuses of the musical trade). It is not only words that speak to the soul, little boy, and you have much to learn. Do away with your youthful pride, or you will never have room to grow.

Oh, I adore classical composers. You know, it ironic you hold such disdain for music such a Tool, because its intricacy is on par with (and influenced by) much classical music. And I’m afraid your ageism here is unfounded, as I have discovered, age has little relevance to wisdom and knowledge, and even maturity.

By the way, anger and aggression are products of genius as well, Genius isn’t defined by a single emotion.

I never once claimed to hold disdain for anything, I simply stated a preference (or non-preference, as it may be), and your continued desire to prove yourself has, in it’s own way, only served to promote the fact that, regardless of the relevance of age, you still lack wisdom, knowledge, and even maturity. Tool is a band…they create music. Whether one desires or does not desire to listen to them has no bearing on who they are as a person and whether or not they have soul. That was your first ignorant mistake. I shall say no more.

Actually, preference is music does determine much about one’s character. Don’t you realize that music creates culture, and spawns mindsets? I attempt to prove myself because I see flaws in your reasoning.
