Does my mom have a problem

Does my mom have a problem?

My mom and dad have been living apart for almost three years now. She says that their seperated, but legally there not. She recentally found the world of online dating. At first I thought it was just her being lonely, and just wanted some friends. I has now gotten to the point where she is online for 5 hours or more at a time or talking on IM or the phone to may different guys. Am I overreacting or is this something serious.

Also she also became to be good friends with a co-worker. At first it was great because now she has a friend and wont need the online sites, but no her friend made things worse. Now her and her friend go out drinking a lot. I have seen her drink 5 margritas in one day! This does not happen everyday but I would say she drinks 3-8 a week. This is not the mom I grew up with. She would have never drank or met some random guy before now. I need some advice on how to help her.

My dad and stem mom have been separated for almost 3 years too, and my dad still goes through “withdrawals” every now and then. It’s probably hitting her that things will never go back to the way it was before. Did your dad recently meet someone or get married, etc? I think that she’s just feeling lonely. Maybe you could try to spend more time with her and be there for her.
