does getting your hair permanetly strait ruin your hair?

im 13 and I have curlyish hair and I straighten my hair alomst evryday and I want permanetly straight hair, if I get it done will it damage my hair?

Answer #1

When you use a straightening iron you are burning your hair. If you do it enough it will make your hair unhealthy and extremely brittle making it much easier to fall out and break. You hair will just be extremely unhealthy if you continue to do it everyday and count on heavy shedding.

Answer #2

It depends.

Answer #3

It’s not actually permanent (it only lasts a few months), it costs quite a bit, and it /does/ damage your hair a bit, regardless of the treatment (though since you straighten your hair every day, which is exactly what you’re /not/ supposed to do, your hair is probably already fried).

Answer #4

Stop straightening your hair! I have really curly hair and I hate how everyone wants straight hair. Why can’t we all just love ourselves the way we are? So stop damaging your hair, please? lol

Answer #5

If you are talking about getting your hair chemically straightened, i wouldn’t!! i knew a girl who had her hair chemically straightened and it completely dammaged her hair. Her hair pretty much looked like straw and it didn’t stay straight for longer than 3 weeks at most. She paid a high price for it too. The best thing to do would be leave your hair alone, but if your like me, and like your hair really straight then make sure you 1. Have a good straightner, its really good to have one that is teflon coated. 2. Use a heat protective spray before straightening. 3. Do treatments at least twice a week. I use Schwarzkopf Q10 treatments, which i leave in over night and wash out in the morning. 4. Make sure that you trim your hair regularly so that your hair does not break too far up.

Hope this helps!! :)
