Does anybody know how to do percents?

  1. $15 is what percent of $75?

  2. 49% of 215 grams is what weight?

  3. 4% of what number is 21?

Answers How it’s figured out

  1. 20% 15 divided by 75 = .2 x 100 = 20 %

  2. 105.35 grams .49 x 215 = 105.35 gm

  3. 525 21 divided by .04 = 525

  4. 7 .125 x 56 = 7

Remember, to find the decimal fraction for a percent like 49% or 12.5%, divide by 100. Then multiply by the fraction as shown in answer # 2 and # 4.

the equation is: is over of times percent over one hundred. (so is/of x %/100) so for your first problem; is (15) over of (75) times percent (unknown) over 100. so substitute a letter for the unknown and it would look like~15/75 X u/100.

                                                                            cross multiply (15 X's 100 and 75  X's u)
                                                                          so you'd get 1500=75u
                                                                         isolate the unknown (so divide 1500 by 75) and you get 20 %!!!
