Does anyone know this quote about quotes?

ok. its a quote about quotes. and how people shoudnt quote things they didnt say or how they should come up with their own stuff. I keep thinking robert frost because I was doing research o him at the time but im not sure if its him. I have this friend that quotes stuff all the time and I want to tell him this one for fun. so if anyone knows it id appreciate it. :]

its ‘did u know that 75% of satistics and “quotes” are made up on the spot’ dont know who said it though ive heard a few variations though so im not sure which was the original one
