Do you have to be 18 to apply for HUD?
Well this is the situation my boyfriend is turning 18 on may his mom past the way when he was 9 years old and he doesn’t know anything about his dad, during all this time he has been living with his aunt paying rent (300 per month) but now that he going to be 18 his aunt whants him to pay 600 per month or he has to be out of the place so he wants to apply for HUD how can he start he has a job but he has to go to school (high school) so the money is not enough what can he do??
tell him to check for rooms for rent or roommate situations. craigslist.org or the local paper are great places to start. HUD housing has an extremely long waiting list, so he needs to figure out something else to do. Isn’t he getting social security checks? Does he have a job?
