Why hasn't a fracture been diagnosed?

I went to A&E on 28/1/08 after a fall. On examination suspected I had fractured my scaphoid bone in my wrist. Xrays were taken but results clear, advised to wear a splint and go back in 10 days. Went back today still in agony after 10 days, on exam still suspected scaphoid fracture.Had 2nd lot of xray were clear. Also had a bone scan done still no fracture present. Advised to wear splint and take painkillers for another 2 weeks. Will go back 21/2/08. Why after 2 lots or xrays and a bone scan has no fraacture been diagonised? What is the likely outcome? Will I beable to work? Thanks

somtimes the fracture can be hairline and not visible for timeframe until It can been seen on subsequent ones days later due to calcium buildup. hope this helps.
