Are back dimples hereditary?

I just noticed I have slight back dimples & my mom doesn’t have them. xD

Answer #1

I have no idea. But like i have an identical twin brother and we should be exactly the same, but I have dimples and he doesn’t. My parents don’t have dimples either. I think one of them had them at some point, but then just faded. I do want to know if they are hereditary.

Answer #2

I don’t think they are, I have them but neither of my parents do. I think it’s one of those things where some people have them and some people don’t.

Answer #3

Dimples are a dominant trait, so yes, they are hereditary to some point. If one of your parents has dimples, and the other does not, then you have a chance of having them on your body.

Dimples of Venus as they’re called, ARE genetic, but can also be defined by doing certain exercises in people whose dimples aren’t prominent. They commonly appear on women the most and are known to be a desirable feature because Romans used to say that the goddess Venus blessed the woman with her beauty marks (Dimples of Venus).
