Is there a difference when someone says they care "for" you and when they say they care "about" you?

Answer #1

I don’t think there is a differance

Answer #2

Depends on how you look at it. It’s possible that “caring for you” means that they’re taking care of you but both of them can mean they are concerned about your well-being.

Answer #3

I think caring for someone is similar to taking care of or worrying about someone in some way. whereas caring about someone is closer to frequently wondering how someones life is treating them.

Answer #4

I dont think theres really a differance when it comes to someone caring for another. I believe if you care for another, then you just care reguardless. On the other hand, love I seem to think is slightly different. Just because you love and care for another doesnt mean that you are in-love with them. Hope that makes at least a little sense for ya, if not at least I can say I tried.

Answer #5

i think that “care about you” is better than “for you” :)

Answer #6

I care “for” someone when I have positive feelings toward them, especially when it’s personal.

“I don’t care for X” generally means “I don’t like X”.

But I may care “about” anyone who is vulnerable to suffering, regardless of how I feel about them personally.

I can care about people even when I don’t care for them.
