The mask is all wooden with paitned black carved hair. It also has indents all ovcer the face but more notably a triangular bulge on its forehead. Can I take it somewhere to get someone to look at it? I found it on the side of the raod in California.
You can get a museum to appraise it, they'll typically have somebody on staff who specializes in acquisitions for the museum and if they can't provide a good estimate of what it's worth, then they may be able to recommend an antique dealer who could appraise the mask. Interesting find - if you could add a picture to your post, that would be appreicated :) I'm very curious myself to know what it looks like.
