Why do diabetics have to get medical forms filled out by their doctors and send them in to the D.M.V. to get their drivers license renewed?

Answer #1

Not 100% sure but don’t diabetics faint when their blood sugar gets low? So the medical forms are just a way to show that the person has controled his/her blood sugar and hasn’t had any problems like fainting

Answer #2

Because diabetics can faint if they are not able to keep their blood sugar under control, obviously causing a serious road hazard if allowed to drive.

Answer #3

Same reason epileptics have to go through the same thing…I was revoked my license 10 years ago and haven’t been able to get it back…Diabetics who don’t have their problem controlled can pass out, which causes a serious safety concern when behind the wheel. Frankly, I’m glad I lost my license for being epileptic - I couldn’t forgive myself if I ever killed anyone.
