diabetic or infection

so I am 21 obese and for the past like 3 years I have been getting these bumps under my arm my breast, my hip, inner thigh and groin area now I have been to the doctor a few times he has given me antibiotics and while taking them the bumps go away but once I have none left they come back now I ask does this sound like a diabetes thing or just an infection the reason I ask is my mother recently passed away from diabetes complications and now I fear I may have it too I dont know what to do no insurance no job any advice?

Number 1: There are free clinics, they may be a hassle to get into, but they’re worth it if you have medical concerns.

Number 2: It is possible that there’s a diabetes factor, however there’s no guarantee. Not to sound insensitive, and trust me I do understand what it is like to lose a family member, but did she have a pack she carried on her that kept her testing unit? If you had access to that, you could get access to a (CLEAN) stabber and do a diabetic blood test. If she didn’t have a monitor (or wasn’t insulin dependant,) you may need to visit a doctor.

Number 3: Reoccuring infections may also be a sign that whatever antibiotic you are receiving is wearing off it’s usefulness, or that you aren’t taking the fully prescribed dosage. Regardless of whether the symptom goes away or not, ALWAYS take your full dosage. If you don’t, the buggers can come back harder and more difficult to kill next time. I would call the doctor who last treated you and ask what the nature of the infection was, and if he/she believes it is one that could reoccur. There is always the possibility that it may not be that kind of infection. There’s viral, bacterial, fungal and genetic disorders to consider… get the wrong one, the meds won’t help (or won’t kill it.)

she did have a kit I would need to get new lancets (the poker thing) and sterilize it of course. but just watching my sugar like I know its not supposed to be over 130 but what is too low would you happen to know?

Answer #3

It depends on when you take your blood sugar, but the following is a GENERAL idea of what you should be looking at. Bear in mind, this is no end-all guide, and the guided care of a health professional would be best. This is for most people in generally decent health.

In the morning/waking up 80 to 120 Before meals/before eating 80 to 120 2 hours after meals 160 or less At bedtime/right before bed 100 to 140

Hope this helps.

Answer #4

I have the same thing. I kept getting antibiotics and they wouldn’t work and finally a doctor swabbed it and they found out that it was MRSA positive. That means that some antibiotics work and some don’t. Once the doctor swab it for MRSA if it comes back positive for this than they will prescribe you the right antibiotics. I got rid of the boils and now I am getting these bumps that resemble boils but the do not have puss in them. I went to the emergency room with one and the said it was cellulitus and I had borderline diabetes and every time I cut out the sugar they would go away. I hope this helps you.
