How can determination make you a good candidate for a help desk support job?

So there is someone who applies for a help desk support job and one of their qualifications (or their only qualification?) is that they are determined. And you need to know how that is helpful a job like that?

If the person is determined in terms of… they want to have that job and be good at it… then I’d say being determined will help them learn the necessary skills (i.e. the product they are supposed to offer support for) fast. If the person appears to be very determined to all people who contact them, then appearing determined will make it easier for them to deal with difficult customers. If you appear to be insecure, then people may not follow your instructions, because they believe you don’t know what you are talking about.
