calm the person down, find out why they are hyperventilating, for example my friend is terrified of needles, and we went into the school hall one day where cervical cancer inoculations had been taking place, she saw the needle boxes and immediately began panicking, i sat her down well away from the boxes calmed her down got her to breathe slowly and got her to drink some water.
Give them a PAPER BAG to breathe into. When you hyperventilate you take in too much oxygen, increasing the amount of oxygen in your blood. You need to get carbon dioxide back into your blood. Since we exhale carbon dioxide, exhaling into a bag and then breathing it back in until you calm down restores the proper amount of oxygen in the blood.
Well dealing with someone who is hyperventilating and figuring out what to do when you're having a panic attack are two different things. You should try some relaxation exercises, figure out how to calm your breathing down with practice.
I hyperventilate when I am scared or soemthing but if someone else is I just tell them it's o.k but if it's really bad then I would go get help. Why is someone hyperventilating????
try and help them calm down. speak calmly to them and rub their back or anything else that seems like something that would help them relax. guide their breathing maybe?
calm them down the best you can and if it gets two out of hand then call 911 cuz they could hurt them selfs
calm them down and give them a paper bag to breathe into. and if it's really bad, then call the ambulance.
I hyperventilate when I'm extremely upset or hurt.
Same. Forgot to put that in. Dang. Oh well. =/
