How long does Darvocet stay in your system?

how long does darvocet stay in your system?

Answer #1

It depends on how often you take it. If it’s a temporary prescription that you haven’t takent before then once you stop 1-3 days. If you take it regularly then it plays a factor, more like 5-7 days. If you take it every day for more than 30 days then it will show up in hair drug tests and things to that nature.

Hi,

Darvon (propoxyphene), the active ingredient in Darvocet, is normally completely gone from your system within 3-7 days of taking it.

However, about one-quarter of it is changed in the liver to norpropoxyphene, which is also causes analgesia. It also is detectable on most drug tests as well.

Unfortunately, because of this two-stage metabolism, the time in which anything is detectable is COMPLETELY UNPREDICTABLE. There is no dependable evidence as to how long it remains detectable on a drug screen, because, in general, studies on people who take drug screens are highly unreliable. Anecdotal reports of times as short as 3 days or as long as 3 weeks are within the realm of possibility.
