Try putting your hair in a medium ponytail, then with you hands... evenly spread your hair that's in the ponytail flat against your head... and then take another hair tie and tie it. Then, pull it a bit and spread it out. It should look like a wheel, with hair sticking out all around it.
Also, you can add style to any simple ponytail, bun, or braid just by adding a cute head band or scarf.... or even adding a "bump" on the top of your hair while having it in a high ponytail.
I agree with Kayleexo, those fashion 'guru's' (as they are called on youtube.) are fabulously amazing, also try typing in xrubyredlips. Other than that, side pony tails are sheek if you want to wear them low, but create them higher for a more fun school-girl look.
take a bit of your hair and put it aside. Then, put your hair in a ponytail. Once you've done that, braid the hair that you left out, wrap it around the ponytail, and secure it with a bobby pin or two.
Go to youtube and type in meganheartsmakeup or bubzbeauty thier AMAZING and they both do good hairstyles. Bubz has more asian hairstlyes and megan is more of a casual/everyday look.
Instead of just a plain french braid u could mix it up a bit by making fishtail braids, japanese braids, etc...They have lots of videos on how to make them on youtube:)
