What are the current issues in education?

I have an interview for a uni course and i’ve been told i have to talk about current issues in education in primary schools, any idea? :)

Kids not bn interested in wats bein taught

Increasing dropout rate Both parents working (latchkey kids) Incompetent teachers protected by tenure Education “reforms” (e.g. No Child Left Behind) developed by free market ideologues rather than educators. Influx of students who’s 1st language isn’t English.

Issues i can get… but… current means that your talk must be for the last few years,i guess …new problems that have come about?…Well nothing much recently has changed from where i see from …other than 1, a high percentages of Eastern European kids in our class rooms now…2,A year on year increase of children who live with one parent or grandparents….3,Kids who do not have any manners or social skills being the teachers new topic to teach coz the parents aint capable….I dont know,but thats moden day Great Britain for ya lol .
