Counciling - or do it by myself ?

Well, I went to see my drama teacher (who is also helps with like problems and stuff) and she asked me how my life was and how things are, and she was talking about something and asked how I let out my anger, so I told her that I cut myself, and said that I’d need adult support and so on. But If I do get counciling, I’d need tell my parents, which I really don’t want to do, But I want help and I just want someone I can talk to, But tbh my mum and dad can’t really tell me off, but I don’t want peoples sympthay.

yeah you can talk to me onmsn and stuff because I’ve been throght it all before thats why I done so crap in the end of year 7 and year 8 so see me at school if you want

Cutting isnt the problem… the reason you cut and your lack of coping skills is… You’ve managed a symptom, but the problem is still there… Your teacher may be right, you may want to talk to someone, you dont need to tell your parents everything, just that you feel you should talk to someone…

Thanks:) I’ve sorta stopped, I’ve haven’t done it an month. But I still have the scars. But the teacher still feels I need help, and other ways to do it :)

Alice,

I think you should tell your parents. They are meant to help you as you are growing up, even in times when you are trapped doing things that aren’t right. Trust your folks to ultimately do the right thing.
