Copyright laws

Is it legal if someone sells a game demo. It might be because more people will buy the game if they have the demo. I also dont mean jampacks. Also would it be legal if the person copyrighted it.

(I have not done this, I am just curious)

It is not legal to sell a demo game because a demo means demonstration. But I suppose its up to the company, in the end they are the ones that decide.

Game demos are also copyrighted. You can not sell any copyrighted material without the permission of the copyright holder. In some cases, copyrighted material comes with a free distribution license, but not generally.
