how can i convince my mom to let me donate my kidney?

Why and who do you want to donate to? You are 20, so you can donate without parental permission but remember, YOU ARE 20- you have such a long life ahead of you. What if you got to 35 and your kidney started failing and you only have one? What if a week after the operation you were in a car accident but only had one kidney? Giving away an organ is not as easy to do as it is to say. Think long and hard about this decision.

I know all of the above could happen to me after I donate…but think about what could happen to the patient who needs one if they don’t get one someday.

You wait till you’re an adult and then you can do whatever you want. Surgery is not cheap, and your mother is responsible for your health, your hospital bills, and taking care of you. When she’s no longer legally responsible for all that, then you go do whatever you want.

No offense to the people out there with like diseases and such, but hell they couldnt pay me to give an organ when im alive. like i need that organ and honestly how freaking scary would it be to find out the organ u donated is needed to save ur life or something… when i die im giving my organs up to whatever cause i choose. bcuz its my decision wether or not i want someone to cut out my liver or my kidney or something.

by telling her that you are saving someones life. Your mum should be proud that your doing this , not trying to syop you. How come you need to convince your mum ?
