How do you connect a Toslink / Fiber Optic Adapter to a regular co-axial or RCA input?

My LG tv has one Toslink / Fiber Optic audio output and I want to connect it to my headphones. I found adapters in Amazon.com and the product description say the following: “This converter transforms a Toslink Optical Digital Audio signal to an RCA Coaxial (S/PDIF) Digital Audio signal. This item is for digital signals only”. I am not sure if my headphones have the capability of digital output. Does anybody know how to find out? Thks.

I never heard of any headphones that took a toslink or S/PDIF coaxial input, those are usually only meant for speaker/home theater systems.
