Connect my laptop to my tv

I have sound but know picture. What am I not doing right. I have a dell laptop, and my tv is a lg plasma. I connect a monitor cord to my rbg slot on my tv. Please help.

Right Click on your desktop and go to properties then go over to settings and then try to enable the second monitor. Or if you’re lucky, one of your F buttons (F1, F2, F3, etc…) should have a little picture that should look something like a monitor or something like that. Try to press the Fn key at the bottom right hand corner of your laptop and then click that F button. (This is all assuming you have a windows machine and not a mac since you didn’t give specifics).
