I'm a little lost...you want to use your phone to establish internet connection? You can connect to the internet on most phones, but I've never heard of a phone/computer connection thing. Unless you're talking about a landline phone and not a cell phone, in which case you'd have to have landline internet. then it would just be a matter of plugging in the phone cord. I guess I need you to clarify a little more though...
If you have a cell phone with a data plan than you may be able to connect your computer to the internet by "tethering" it to your phone. The procedure is different for different phones. My old Moto Q could act as a cellular modem for a computer connected through a USB cable. My current phone can tether using either USB cable, or wirelessly with Bluetooth, or WiFi.
when i went camping and the missus bought her laptop all we did was plug the phone into the lappy. then we went into connectivity settings and enabled it from there... hmm im sure we had to synchronize it too.. phones are not my strong point sry :)
