It used to be REALLY fast, but now it takes a least 5 minutes to connect to the internet and to show that little side bar thing on the right ( that Vista thingy). It can't be because I have a ton of stuff on my computer, I hardly have anything and I delete things that I don't need every night. So what could be slowing it down this much? :)
5mins to connect to teh internet :O update the modem/router drivers to the latest.
when you say the vista thing on the right i take it you mean that column which contains all that useless stuff like weather and the date/time etc etc? which most are connected to teh internet.
try disabling them all - restart and see if its improved. if it has theres your problem
its like when you keep adding and deleting stuff the computer stores the information where it can so some of the files get split up and saved in different places so when it tries to load stuff its looking around for the bits in short go to google and type in "defraggler" and go to the free download then run it =)

how is teh lappy connected to the com? normally if you just run windows update and check the software/optional downlaods it finds ;)
It could just be a slow connection to the server, but we had the same problem and it turned out to be a virus.
cud be a virus, a lot of apllications on it.. if its the internet maybenurnprovider is doin something..
How do I update the router thingy? When I said computer I meant laptop, does that still have a router?
ive got ti on mine and it didnt but you could always scan it before you open it :P

try defragging it :) or run a program like c cleaner
