Why is it that it is way more common for people to type their smiley faces like this :) rather than this (: ?

Answer #1

I tried typing it that way (: … but it just feels SO unnatural. Ugh…see, I feel icky now :P It feels like the sentence is unfinished, or it’s smiling at something different lol

Answer #2

I always do mines like this! (: I used to do them like :) but it got rather boring lmfao :)))))

Answer #3

hahahaha that’s funny! “icky” hahaha (:

Answer #4

I do it both ways depending on how long the sentence is (: as random as that is haha :)

Answer #5

haha yeah, I thought about it and it does feel unnatural. but it’s different for a lot of people i guess haha. :)(: idk lol. Thanks for the answers, love how you all have a different perspective and I’m not getting the same answer back haha

Answer #6

It’s just the way most people see it, so they start typing there smiley faces like that and it becomes habit so now when people do it the other way it feels unnatural (man I’ll say, lol). And for those people who do it (: this way I guess they wanna be unique so that’s what they do :) lol

Answer #7

Its just probobly because that’s how they first learned and they stick to it. I type it the the second way because somehow it looks more real to me. Idk why I’m just weird like that.

Answer #8

haha yeah. :) (: from now on when i write smileys i’ll try to do both lol just for the fun of it!

Answer #9

Answer #12

I’m the complete opposite, I like my smiley faces to have, eyes, a nose and a smile. :-)

Answer #13

haha, i love customizing mine too, but i get lazy about it somtimes and just do these :) boring ones haha ~:> chicken lol

Answer #14

Nah it’ not boring. Mind you, half of the time, I don’t even know what the smiley faces are on here. Whether it is a happy face :) or a sad face (:
