What are the CODiE awards?

I’ve never heard of them, but here’s what Wikipedia has to say: “The CODiE awards are annual awards issued by the Software and Information Industry Association for excellence in software development within the software industry.

The CODiE Awards program has attempted to showcase the software and information industry’s products and services and to honor excellence for corporate achievement and philanthropic efforts. It is the only peer-recognition awards program of the software industry, providing the opportunity for companies to earn the praise of their competitors.

The name “CODiE” is derived from the word code, meaning the instructions making up a computer program.”

I read that the nomination guidelines are quite stringent – to win award plaques you need to be able to prove your nominate product works via video and live demonstrations – both nerve-wracking at the very least.
