How would you classify the flavour of an onion?

we all know that lemons are bitter and oranges are zingy and suchwhat but how would you describe an onion ???

Well, different types of onions have different tastes… but some of the words I would use to describe onions in general would be sharp, sweet, tangy, bitter, vinegary, and spicy.

our onions are like our english mustard and blow your bloody mouth off.

ive only ever eaten english grown onions and as i said their bloody hot and make me gob go all funny :S

They are bitter and spicey at the same time. Red onions also have that tangy/hot taste but can also be slightly sweet. However Breaded and fried onion - The onion doesnt have much flavor. Some people would also say they were peppery
