Do you have to ask someone in town for permission for a group to go caroling on Christmas Eve?
Some friends and I were hoping to go, and collect donations for our local charities.
Do we have to get permission from anyone?

It is perhaps best to call your local court house, city hall, or perhaps even your local police department or library for a more accurate answer that relates directly to your locality.
